Information is the delivery of education?
She works for one of these organizations, whose "education" is always someone who is in front of a group and say something? If you answer "yes", you're not alone. This is a common practice that leads to a widespread belief among many that is education. It is a perception that has annoyed me for many years. I'm not against the briefing … They have their place. What I am against calling it 'education'.
Information sessions are veryuseful for, curiously, the dissemination of information. It is practically useless for the transfer of learning. True, you can create an information session, advising employees of a credit union, has increased from 6.3% to 6.7% and those of them is to use a percentage of all transactions. It would be difficult to argue that there is at least an element of learning involved (and the inference, learning). After all, who were all present had probably learned that the new rate is6.7%.

I maybe thousands attended the briefing. I'm an information junkie. It is a disease I had never been able to overcome. I just have to attend to everything that sounds like it is relevant or interesting that I had the time (and sometimes money). I'm not facts, but to learn to hear the opinions of others'. I can make some significant events and opinions can not remember, but as time passes and I go to the next session of information,Summary of the previous one has been forgotten.
Sometimes I write notes on what I heard, and I connect to things that are important to me. It helps me to consolidate the main themes and also a reference source of damage if I want to review the concepts or principles again. In some cases, write the story and connects it to what is appropriate for me to make a big difference.
Recently, the definition of what is or is not training or teaching, has been overshadowed by the variousways that promote learning. Orphaned children, we still have more in the same way, but the way that the reading of the content is different. For example, just-in-time learning to use the supply / demand approach … we just learn something before we need it, so they do not carry around a pocket full of knowledge, skills or attitudes that you should never be used. The online learning is a model that still need to use the structure, repetition, revision, evaluation, feedback and all the other things to learnimplies. Then there's learning on the job, which is still popular, but not accurately distinguish between the teaching and learning of low achievers who are moving their discoveries with others.
Improve your Info Sessions
You can improve the value of an information session, making only a couple of simple things. If the session is only meant to tell anyone what a great trip to China that was not really matter what you remember. If someone tells you aboutnew review procedures for your company, focuses on changes that have taken place between the old procedures and new procedures. At the end of the session to ask questions to clear doubtful points, and then provide an overview of changes that may go, when necessary, your audience as an aid to memory.
